Apostle Dr. Charley Levern Johnson Sr.
Founder/ Senior Pastor Emeritus
Apostle Dr. Charley Levern Johnson, Sr. is Founder/Pastor Emeritus of Tabernacle Worship Center, located in Darlington, South Carolina. On August 25, 2020, Apostle Dr. Charley Levern Johnson, Sr., retired after 52 years as the Senior Pastor. However, he now serves as Pastoral Counselor and serves at his leisure. He believes the measure of his success in ministry is accredited to his love for people and his hands-on ministry style. His longevity in ministry is attributed not to anything he’s accomplished, but to those he has served and continues to serve.
As a pastor in the City of Darlington for 52 years, he consistently dedicated himself as a Servant of God to the religious, educational, and humanitarian welfare of the Darlington community, and to all mankind. He served as President of Darlington County NAACP. He served in the army for 8 years and Law Enforcement for 18 years.
As a Man of God, he preached an authentic, transforming, and deliverance gospel. Like a balm in Gilead, his message was the antidote for broken lives and wounded spirits. Endowed with a ministry that is evidenced by signs, miracles and wonders, souls are saved, delivered and set free by the power of God in each service. His ministry transcended ethnic barriers and reached people from all walks of life. The hallmark of his ministry was the laying on of hands for the receiving of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Apostle Johnson Sr. is the Founder and Presiding Prelate/Chief Apostle of the Omega True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Churches of God, Inc. Also, he is the founder of the Omega True Vine Pentecostal Holiness Church in Atlanta, GA. Apostle Johnson, Sr., sees his greatest accomplishment after 52 years of Pastoring, is the people – not the buildings. “It is a blessing to see those you’ve mentored play integral parts in ministry at the church and across the nation,” Being a people’s person, you learn how to treat people, love people and care for people. And, that gives you a Shepherd’s heart.” His perpetual journey has crafted a lifetime filled with respect and adoration across the nation, as well as, unimaginable blessings and irreplaceable experiences. He is comfortable in his salvation and confident in a risen Savior, absolute, with no equivocations. His obedient spirit and total reliance on the Holy Spirit have afforded him the opportunity of preaching, teaching, and ministering for over 52 years.
